SEPTEMBER 01, 2021: INTRODUCTION OF SICK LEAVE E-CERTIFICATES
With the beginning of the school year (September 01) electronic sick leave certificates will be used in Ukraine only. Unlike paper ones, there is no need to visit a doctor to obtain e-certificates, since the document will be automatically generated in the register of such sick leave certificates. The sick leave certificate will be created on the basis of information about temporary disability entered by the doctor.
It is possible to check and see electronic sick leave certificates in the personal electronic accounts of the employer and the employee on the official web site of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. The employer can see the employee’s sick leave certificates only during the period of his/her employment with the employer. The employee will see all of his/her electronic sick leave certificates.
After September 01 paper sick leave certificates of temporary disability can be extended or closed only (i.e. those that were opened before that date). Registration of new paper sick leave certificates from September 01 is not allowed.
Transfer of paper sick leave certificates to the electronic register is not provided. Therefore, paper sick leave certificates are to be kept and filed in the same order as before.
